Guidelines

Last updated: 8 November 2026

Alacri Works develops software for Invision Community, including applications, themes and other resources. We also use this website to share development updates, discuss our work and help customers with their purchases.

You don't need to buy anything to become a member. You're welcome to register, join discussions and follow projects that interest you.

We do ask everyone to follow a few rules. Most are common sense, but please read them before signing up.

Accounts and Registration

You'll need an email address you can access. We use it for account-related messages, purchase information and support replies.

Keep your password private and don't share your account with anyone else. Accounts cannot be sold or transferred without permission.

We also don't allow members to create additional accounts to avoid restrictions, take advantage of offers dishonestly or impersonate somebody else.

Sometimes we may need to confirm account ownership before discussing private information or granting access to purchased downloads.

If you notice anything suspicious happening with your account, contact us.

Taking Part in Discussions

People have different opinions about software. You might love a particular feature that somebody else dislikes, or disagree with a decision we've made. There's nothing wrong with that.

You're free to criticise our products, report bugs and suggest changes. We aren't expecting every comment about Alacri Works to be positive.

What matters is how people treat one another.

Please don't harass, threaten or personally attack other members. Discriminatory abuse, spam and deliberately disruptive behaviour aren't welcome either.

Keep advertising out of discussions unless we've given permission for it. Don't post malicious links, somebody else's private information or files you aren't entitled to distribute.

If a conversation gets out of hand, staff may step in, move posts or remove material that breaks the rules.

Buying and Using Our Resources

Before purchasing anything, take a moment to check the product description. Make sure the application supports your version of Invision Community and includes the functionality you need.

Not sure about something? Ask us. We'd prefer to clear up any uncertainty before an order is placed.

Software purchased from Alacri Works comes with a licence that explains how it may be used. Buying a resource doesn't transfer ownership of its code or copyright.

Please don't pass paid files to other people, upload them to sharing websites or resell them without authorisation.

Installation allowances aren't necessarily the same for every product. Some licences may cover multiple websites, while others have different conditions. The individual licence and product information explain what's included.

Changes to software may be permitted under its licence, but that doesn't mean we can support every modification made by a customer or third party.

Our full purchase conditions are covered separately in the Terms of Sale.

Refunds and Faulty Software

We don't normally offer change-of-mind refunds once digital software has been supplied and the applicable legal requirements for ending the cancellation right have been met.

We encourage customers to check what they're buying beforehand, but we recognise that a faulty application is a different matter from simply deciding you no longer want it.

If something doesn't work as advertised, let us know through the Support Centre. Tell us what's wrong and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, fix the problem.

Not every bug has an immediate solution. Sometimes the cause is obvious; on other occasions, we need to examine the software, check the environment it's running in or reproduce the behaviour before we can correct it.

We'd rather put the problem right than leave somebody with software they can't properly use.

If we've confirmed a significant fault and the repair is taking longer than expected, we may offer partial account credit as a goodwill gesture while the work continues. Whether credit is appropriate, and how much, depends on the circumstances.

That doesn't replace your legal rights. Where you're entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund under applicable consumer law, we'll respect those rights. We won't insist on account credit instead of a remedy the law requires.

Support and Bug Reports

Our Support Centre is the best place to raise problems with applications you've purchased.

When contacting us, include the name and version of the resource, your Invision Community version and a description of the issue. Error messages and screenshots are useful, especially when a problem only happens under certain conditions.

Please keep passwords, database details and other private credentials out of public discussions.

We provide assistance with our own resources according to their support terms. We can't automatically take responsibility for unrelated hosting problems, conflicts caused by other developers' software or custom changes made outside our work.

If we believe the problem comes from something outside our application, we'll explain what we've found.

Feature requests are welcome. We consider suggestions when planning updates, although submitting an idea doesn't guarantee it will be developed.

Security and Your Content

Don't try to access another person's account or parts of the website you don't have permission to use. Interfering with our systems, attempting to steal information or bypassing security and licensing restrictions is prohibited.

If you find a possible vulnerability, report it privately. Please don't exploit it or publish details that could expose other users to harm.

You're responsible for anything you post, including files, code, images and forum messages. Make sure it's yours to share or that you have the necessary permission.

Your original work remains yours. By contributing to the community, you allow us to store and display that material as part of operating the website. It doesn't give Alacri Works ownership of your independent projects.

We may remove material that breaches these rules or presents a legal, security or privacy concern.

When Something Goes Wrong in the Community

We don't want members worrying that every disagreement will lead to a warning. People make mistakes, and an ordinary argument doesn't automatically call for disciplinary action.

Where possible, we'll explain the problem and give the member an opportunity to resolve it.

Repeatedly ignoring the rules may lead to posts being removed, temporary restrictions or account suspension. More serious behaviour, including deliberate security abuse, fraud or harassment, may justify a permanent ban.

If you believe we've dealt with something unfairly, you can contact us through support and ask for the decision to be reviewed.

Restricting somebody's community account doesn't automatically remove legitimate purchase entitlements or rights protected by law.

Privacy and Changes to the Rules

We use account information to run the website, process orders, verify licences and deal with support requests. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled and what rights you have.

Our Cookies Policy covers cookies and similar technologies used on Alacri Works.

These rules may need updating as the website changes. If we introduce changes that materially affect members, we'll provide appropriate notice. Any existing rights that cannot lawfully be altered will remain protected.

Agreement

Registering with Alacri Works means you agree to follow these rules.

Purchases and paid development services may be subject to additional conditions, which are provided separately where relevant.

If there's anything you'd like to clarify before joining, please contact us through the Support Centre.
